The Basilica of Sant’Eustorgio is one of the holiest sites of Milan. Here they are preserved part of the relics of the Three Wise Men. For that reason, for many century a great number of believer were used to come here in pilgrimage. Also now, this is still the place where every year the 6th January, day of the Holy Epiphany, it is kept the traditional procession of the Three Wise Men. Inside the basilica there are also precious art treasures, such as refined Gothic tombs of Visconti, and the Portinari Chapel, which was painted by Vincenzo Foppa in early Renaissance age. Inside the Portinari Chapel, you can see the asthonishing Ark of St. Peter Martyr by Giovanni Balduccio, the leading representative artist of Gothic sculpture. You can also visit the underground necropolis of the time of early of Christianity.
