Porta Nuova district, the second city center of Milan

The second city center of Milan is Gae Aulenti square, around which in the last ten years have been build the new contemporary district of Porta Nuova, which has changed the town’s appearance. Here internationally well-known architects rose a sort of revolutionary architecture, which always takes into account environmental sustainability. Here is located the famous “Vertical Wood” by architect Boeri, winner of prestigious awards, which qualifies the “Vertical Wood” as the most beautiful skyscraper in the world of 2014. New skyscrapers are added to the Palazzo Lombardia and Unicredit Tower architect Cesar Pelli. This area is still evolving, and new buildings are going to be raised and opened shortly.
